I think it proper to add that Dr. Legge has also applied to me to know if I would grant to him, as occasions might arise, License for solemnization of Marriages at the Union Chapel.

I leave to state that Her Majesty's Government will have my assistance in carrying into effect mensures for relieving any of our British fellow subjects in this island from any conscientious scrupies which they may entertain against having their marriages solemnized according to the forme of the Church of England-
